NAVFAC SOUTHWEST is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in the Planning, Design and Construction Directorate in San Diego to lead in-house design teams and coordinate with A/E firms.

You will manage design scopes for DBB/DB projects, track budgets and schedules, perform QA reviews, provide PCAS, and mentor junior engineers. A PE license and a Secret clearance are required, with ad-hoc telework available.

Formación

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Experience in mechanical design for installation shore facilities, HVAC, and related systems.
• Requires Secret security clearance and eligibility for access to sensitive information.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a multi-disciplinary in-house design team and oversee design efforts by architectural/engineering firms.
• Coordinate mechanical design with other disciplines for DBB and DB projects to ensure overall site and building efficiency.
• Track project progress to keep within budgets and ensure drawings and specs meet schedules.
• Perform quality assurance reviews of drawings, specifications, calculations, costs, and studies prepared by A/E firms.
• Provide post-construction award services (PCAS), including review/approval of submittals for conformance with contract documents.
• Mentor and train junior mechanical engineers within the organization.
