Job summary

OEI (O’Brien Engineering & Architecture) seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer/PE with 10+ years of experience to lead DoD and federal project design using Revit and AutoCAD, collaborating with a multidisciplinary A/E team on diverse government, healthcare, and institutional facilities.

The ideal candidate will possess a Texas PE license (or out-of-state with TX license in 12 months), strong code knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with plumbing, electrical, and architectural disciplines.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Mechanical design experience required.
• 6+ years of DoD design experience.
• Minimum 5 projects as DOR/EOR.
• Proficiency in building codes and standards (UPC, IPC, IMC, NFPA, ASHRAE, IBC).
• Design experience including HVAC, controls and plumbing (preferred).
• Revit proficiency; Bluebeam PDF (preferred).
• Texas PE license or license in another state with TX license within 12 months; LEED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design in MEP projects with coordination with disciplines and clients.
• Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication and time management.
• Design systems in buildings and facilities and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Assist in determining and developing project scope.
• Assist in field data collection and directing subconsultants.
