Job summary

Wiley|Wilson is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with district utilities expertise for our Atlanta, GA office. You will lead design for district heating and cooling systems, mentor junior staff, and drive growth of our district energy practice while delivering innovative, reliable energy solutions.

Applicants should have 10+ years of district thermal utility experience, a PE license, and an ABET-accredited mechanical engineering degree.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of focused experience with district thermal utility systems (generation and distribution).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; strong leadership experience.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. and obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and design for district thermal systems (hot water, chilled water, steam).
  • Contribute to business development within the district utilities sector.
  • Perform detailed analyses including life cycle cost evaluations (LCCA).
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems into large projects.
  • Mentor and provide technical direction to junior engineers.
  • Support field investigations and construction phase services.
  • Participate in design reviews to uphold quality and performance.
  • Assist with construction phase services.
