Job summary

Wiley|Wilson is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with district utilities expertise to lead planning, design, and delivery of hot water, chilled water, and steam networks. You will mentor junior engineers, perform life cycle cost analyses, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable, sustainable energy solutions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of focused experience with district thermal utility systems, including generation and distribution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and design for district thermal systems (hot water, chilled water, steam).
  • Support business development within the district utilities sector.
  • Perform detailed engineering analyses including life cycle cost evaluations (LCCA).
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems into infrastructure projects.
  • Mentor and provide technical direction to junior engineers.
  • Support field investigations and system evaluations to align designs with site conditions.
  • Participate in design reviews to uphold quality and system performance.
  • Assist with construction-phase services.
