Job summary

ARCO/Murray Engineering in Downers Grove, Illinois is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical and plumbing design for our design/build projects across entertainment, agriculture, industrial and commercial sectors. You will guide the design from concept through turnover, applying building codes and ASHRAE methods, coordinating with design and construction teams using Revit and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• 7 - 20 years of mechanical and/or plumbing design experience.
• Bachelor-level degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field.
• Experience using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of codes, standards, and design principles for mechanical and plumbing systems. Ability to work on multiple projects at once.
• Comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design process for mechanical and plumbing systems across diverse buildings.
• Guide design from concept through turnover and operation.
• Apply building codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Use ASHRAE approved calculation methods to perform load calculations.
• Coordinate with design and construction teams to meet client criteria.
• Generate permit and construction documents using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Participate in project pursuits and conceptual design to display the design/build value.
• Assist the project team during construction with RFIs, submittals, and field challenges.
• Participate in developing standards, procedures, and training for the group.
