ARCO/Murray Engineering in Downers Grove, IL seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to guide full mechanical scope and lead development of mechanical and plumbing systems for diverse design/build projects. You will interface with experienced engineers and project managers across Entertainment, Controlled Environment Agriculture, Industrial, and Commercial facilities.

The role emphasizes leadership of the design process, code compliance, and 3D modeling with Revit/AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• 7–20 years of mechanical and/or plumbing design experience.
• Bachelor-level degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field.
• Experience using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of codes, standards, and design principles for mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design process for mechanical and plumbing systems for various building types.
• Guide and review design from concept to turnover and operation.
• Apply building codes, standards, and project requirements to design work.
• Use load calculation methods to support project design.
• Coordinate with design and construction teams to ensure client criteria are met.
• Generate permit and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Participate in project pursuits and conceptual design to showcase design/build value.
• Assist the project team during construction with RFIs and submittals.
• Contribute to development of group standards, procedures, and training.
