Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer in Roy, UT to join a multi-disciplinary team and support the Sentinel Program within the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division.

You will develop and review ECS hardware requirements, perform trade studies, and collaborate across IPTs to ensure milestone deliveries. The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, DoD/SAP clearance eligibility, and experience with HVAC sizing, supplier reviews, and MBSE processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field required.
• 5 years (level 3) or 8 years (level 4) of relevant experience.
• U.S. Citizen required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain SAP clearance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to decompose technical requirements and conduct trade studies.
• Generate/update specifications for suppliers and procurement.
• Develop design/analysis artifacts for reviews and hardware procurement workflows.
• Perform heating and cooling calculations to size HVAC equipment.
• Select appropriate HVAC equipment to meet system requirements.
• Review supplier drawings and contractual deliveries.
