Job summary

Credence in Crestview, FL seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the Fixed Wing Branch. You will lead design, analysis, and integration of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems for USAF aircraft, ensuring airworthiness and reliable performance across environments.

The role requires ABET-accredited advanced degrees and extensive DoD/SOF experience, with a background in program execution, standards, and cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance (or higher).
• ABET-accredited Master’s/Doctorate in a related field with 10 years of experience, 5 in DoD/SOF.
• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in a related field with 20 years of experience, 5 in DoD/SOF.
• Minimum two years of experience in design, development, and integration of aircraft hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, with oversight of projects.
• Experience with airworthiness, loads, stress, and weight and balance analyses.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly technical expertise in solving complex engineering problems related to military aircraft hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical systems, flight controls, mass properties, and structural systems.
• Plan and conduct engineering feasibility studies for design improvements and advanced technologies.
• Develop standards and guidelines for engineering tasks and certification criteria.
• Manage size, power, cooling, weight and balance designs; support test plans and execution.
• Coordinate with IPTs to ensure aircraft systems meet requirements.
