Job summary

Oakwell, an infrastructure and resource efficiency firm serving health systems and higher education, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own decarbonization programs end-to-end, from concept to completion, with professional autonomy and strategic influence.

This remote role prefers candidates in the Northeast; travel is ~20%. You will lead energy modeling, retro-commissioning, ROI-driven ECMs, and client-facing implementation, mentoring junior engineers and shaping scalable AI/ML tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering.
• PE license required.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience.
• Deep energy-modeling and retro-commissioning experience.
• Availability to travel ~20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead 10-year sustainability and decarbonization plans for health-system clients.
• Own retro-commissioning and energy modeling across central plant, AHU, terminal equipment, and EMS.
• Develop ROI-driven ECMs and sustainable MEP standards.
• Serve as client- and construction-facing lead through implementation and commissioning.
• Mentor engineers and shape AI/ML tooling that scales our analysis.
