Job summary

Google is seeking a Mechanical Engineer within the Data Center Technology Systems team to lead the design and implementation of next-generation cooling and mechanical infrastructure for our global data centers.

You will pioneer modular design, drive offsite fabrication, and collaborate across Planning, Operations, and Execution to accelerate deployments and support machine learning workloads across Google Cloud.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments.
• Experience using thermal analysis, CFD, or hydraulic modeling for air and waterside systems.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop technical project documentation and commissioning plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead global mechanical infrastructure design, testing, and deployment of cooling components.
• Implement offsite modular construction and prefabrication strategies to speed deployments.
• Perform detailed thermal analysis, CFD, and hydraulic modeling to validate technologies.
• Collaborate with Planning, Operations, and Execution teams to optimize fleet for ML workloads.
• Prepare engineering packages including work statements, specifications, drawings, and commissioning tests.
