Job summary

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer – CDU for our Plano, TX office. This hybrid role focuses on data center liquid cooling systems, CDU design, and cross-functional leadership across customers and suppliers.

The role requires 12+ years engineering experience, including 7+ years in mechanical design and supplier-facing leadership for industrial equipment. Travel and collaboration with Hyperscalers are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years total with 7+ years in mechanical design and supplier-facing leadership for industrial or packaged equipment.
• Ability to read P&IDs, GA drawings, and mechanical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for CDU mechanical system design.
• Lead product design activities from concept to mass production.
• Coordinate technical alignment between customers and suppliers.
• Support supplier evaluation, cost-down initiatives, and manufacturing readiness.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, and service.
