Job summary

Tadano is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to design and validate mechanical systems for crane construction equipment, including hydraulic and electrical subsystems. You will oversee component design, testing, and integration with suppliers and teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years in cranes, strong CAD/FEA skills, and experience in welded structures and truck chassis integration. Office and shop work environments are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years in crane industry experience.
• Proficient in electrical and hydraulic schematics design.
• Experience in mechanical components such as sub-frames, turret structures, outriggers and booms.
• Weldment design proficiency; AWS D1.1 a plus.
• Strong knowledge of truck chassis integration and standard manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Proficient with CAD tools such as SolidWorks & DraftSight.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• Proficient with hydraulics and communication skills.
• Ability to lead projects and collaborate in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and validation of new mechanical components for boom trucks, knuckle booms, and cranes.
• Integrate electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical functions for machine controls.
• Set up, test, and document component tests.
• Support manufacturing with continuous improvement and issue resolution.
• Plan projects, monitor progress, and coordinate with suppliers and other disciplines.
