Job summary
FMH Conveyors, a Duravant family company, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer in Jonesboro, AR to design flexible and rigid conveyors and related equipment. You will work with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure designs meet customer specs and manufacturing feasibility.
Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 5–10+ years in industrial design, with strong CAD and ERP experience, plus a drive to improve lean processes and on-site support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
- 5–10+ years in engineering and design of manufactured equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and write reports.
- Experience on the shop floor to verify BOM/MOM accuracy.
- Familiarity with NEC, ANSI, NIOSH, OSHA codes.
Responsibilities
- Lead design of conveyors and components using 3-D CAD (Inventor preferred) and 2-D drawings.
- Develop or modify BOMs and MOMs in ERP/MRP systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and CAD designers to ensure accurate models.
- Analyze structures; perform deflection and stability calculations.
- Support R&D projects and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Travel to customer sites to evaluate installations.
