Job summary

Sharpe Recruiting Ventures is partnering with a Los Angeles client to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer, Product Design. You will own complex consumer electronics from concept through mass production, translating design intent into robust mechanical architectures and selecting manufacturing strategies.

You will drive prototypes, validation, DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing collaboration while working with design and electrical teams. On-site in LA with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience in consumer electronics or electromechanical products.
• End-to-end ownership of multiple products from concept through tooling and mass production.
• Ability to independently lead technically complex mechanical development programs.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and production drawings.
• Experience with injection molding and other high-volume manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical development from concept to mass production.
• Define product mechanical architecture and manufacturing strategy.
• Translate design concepts into robust, manufacturable products.
• Lead mechanical integration of PCBs, sensors, and electromechanical components.
• Drive prototypes, validation plans, and reliability testing.
• Collaborate with suppliers and tooling partners to retire risk.
• Travel internationally to suppliers and manufacturing partners as required.
