Job summary

RKS design in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Engineer for freelance collaboration. The role focuses on integrating electronics into product designs, working with mechanical and software engineers to deliver robust, high-quality solutions.

The ideal candidate will balance usability, cost, and safety while developing hardware, firmware, and documentation. Remote coordination is possible with on-site availability as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s a plus.
• Proven experience integrating electronics into mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and EDA tools (Altium, Eagle).
• Strong circuit design knowledge, MCUs, sensors, and actuators.
• Embedded systems and firmware experience is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards for consumer/medical/industrial products.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Design,develop, and test electro-mechanical systems and components for consumer,medical, and industrial products.

• Collaboratewith cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, softwaredevelopers, and industrial designers to create cohesive and innovativeproduct solutions.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor'sdegree in Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or arelated field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  
• Provenexperience in designing and integrating electronics into mechanicalsystems.
  
• Proficiencyin CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and electronic designautomation (EDA) tools (e.g., Altium SW, Eagle).
  
• Strongunderstanding of circuit design, micro-controllers, sensors, and actuators.
  
• Experiencewith embedded systems and firmware development is a plus.
