You will design the harnessing and enclosures, ensuring manufacturability and field readiness while collaborating with embedded software, electrical, and product teams on-site. This hands-on role requires root-cause analysis of failures, strong problem-solving, and the ability to drive design-for-manufacturing decisions early in development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Experience in mechanical design including structured risk analysis, drawings, and tolerance analysis.
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturability and assembly; on-site in Madison, Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Design harnessing for connected trailer and vehicle products—routing, connector selection, strain relief, wire gauge and protection.
• Design and test electronic enclosures, including environmental sealing, thermal management, mounting, and durability.
• Review mechanical products for robustness and feasibility, providing DFM and DFA feedback.
• Lead root cause analysis of mechanical failures and warranty claims, driving corrective actions to closure.
• Partner cross-functionally with electrical, embedded software, and product teams to ensure integration.
• Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, tolerances, usage guides, and test reports.
