Job summary

Applied Intuition, Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive the mechanical design, analysis, and validation of our self-driving vehicle systems.

You will shape the external sensor suite, internal harnessing, and vehicle architecture, ensuring scalability and manufacturability across multi-disciplinary teams. The role demands 10+ years of hardware design experience, FEA/CAE proficiency, and hands-on work with CNC/machining and welding.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience designing hardware and shipping products.
• Demonstrated experience in FEA/CAE.
• Experience with hardware reliability and testing.
• NVH experience is a plus.
• CNC, Machining, Metal Working and Welding experience.
• Experience with AV components (LiDARs, Radars, Cameras).
• Familiarity using CAD (SolidWorks Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support the mechanical engineering development of Applied Vehicles.
• Contribute to the mechanical design of the external sensor suite, compute assembly, and interior of the vehicles.
• Perform structural and thermal analysis of mechanical designs.
• Own the design, analysis, and validation of the system from the component level, assembly level, and the fully integrated vehicle.
• Design with a focus on scalability and manufacturability.
• Work cross-functionally to ensure the requirements and mechanical designs meet the needs of all the teams within the organization.
