Job summary

SSOE's Advanced Technology division in Boise seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for cleanroom, fab, and advanced technology facilities from concept through startup. You will develop HVAC systems and coordinate with project teams, mentoring junior staff while ensuring code-compliant, constructible solutions using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required.
Active PE license or ability to obtain by reciprocity within six months of hire.
Experience in semiconductor/cleanroom/fab facilities or related markets.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM coordination.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design for cleanroom, fab, and advanced technology projects from planning through startup.
Develop and review HVAC and mechanical system designs (AHUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, exhaust).
Perform design calculations, load analyses, and system coordination for code-compliant solutions.
Prepare construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit; deliverables aligned with project requirements.
Participate in BIM coordination and Navisworks clash detection; resolve conflicts with other disciplines.
Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors to define scope and support decisions.
Mentor junior engineers and staff; support stamping and licensure activities.
