Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead maintenance and optimization of the MCB portfolio at the Cedar Rapids Design Center. You will apply systematic problem solving, drive verification plans, and ensure compliance with UL489, IEC, and other standards.

The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, signoff on deliverables, and mentoring of peers. Travel ~10% is expected; a strong background in electromechanical design is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in electromechanical design or related field.
• 6–10 years of relevant electromechanical mass production experience preferred.
• GD&T knowledge and CAD modeling basics.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and optimization for the MCB portfolio.
• Apply problem-solving techniques to address design issues.
• Create and review test plans and verify results.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, NOM, CCC and IEC standards.
• Generate technical reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functional projects and track progress.
