Job summary

Flow Control Group, including Air Relief, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in centrifugal compressor design, repair, and analysis. You will lead analysis and recommend repairs for multi‑stage compressors, covering aerodynamic, rotating assemblies, and testing to support manufacturing and field service.

Roles span the product lifecycle, with mentorship of junior staff and collaboration with internal and external teams to optimize performance and reliability across diverse customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering.
• 7–10 years in mechanical design with a focus on high‑speed rotating equipment or turbomachinery.
• Proven expertise in centrifugal compressor design, aerodynamic interfaces, and rotor dynamics.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks).
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of centrifugal compressors, impellers, casings, and rotor dynamics systems.
• Coordinate acquisition and analysis of spectral vibration data at customer sites.
• Specify bearings, seals, couplings, and materials for high‑speed rotating applications.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize design for production and assembly.
• Define test plans, oversee prototype testing, and analyze data to refine designs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
