Job summary

WSP USA in Dallas, TX is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Property & Buildings Team. This full-time role centers on HVAC, plumbing, and building systems design for infrastructure and commercial projects with emphasis on collaboration and quality.

You will lead analyses, prepare reports, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring codes and standards compliance and delivering reliable, future-ready mechanical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 5–7 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.
• Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
• Working knowledge of regulatory compliance for mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Determine data collection methods from sites, surveys, blueprints, and reports for project development and construction.
• Perform professional mechanical engineering work and inspect site conditions and equipment.
• Develop construction plans, specs, and cost estimates; coordinate with owners and clients.
• Apply advanced modeling, load calculations, and design requirements for proper installation of equipment.
• Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on AHU, VAV, hydronic, and plumbing systems.
• Work in cross-functional teams to execute multiple projects and manage costs and materials.
