Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Buildings Division in Douglassville, PA. You will lead the design of complex mechanical systems across healthcare, education, municipal, and other sectors, coordinating with a multidiscipline team from planning through construction documents.

The role emphasizes conceptual design involvement with architectural teams early in projects and producing contract documents and supporting calculations. LEED/accreditations preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Professional Engineer license required; multi-state license a plus.
• 15+ years in design of engineering systems for large buildings.
• In-depth boiler/chiller system design knowledge.
• HVAC controls knowledge a plus.
• Revit/AutoCAD proficiency preferred.
• Experience with energy modeling software preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce contract documents including plans and specifications aligned with scope, schedule, and fees.
• Prepare drawings and specs meeting best practices and STV quality standards.
• Coordinate with architects and engineers on HVAC requirements.
• Perform construction administration: RFIs, submittals, field inspections, inspection reports.
• Attend meetings with owners, contractors, and design team members.
• Select HVAC equipment and develop schedules, diagrams, and specs.
• Perform heating/cooling/ventilation load analyses; energy projections.
