Job summary

Fisica, Inc. is seeking a Senior Associate, Mechanical Engineer in Simi Valley, CA, to lead full-cycle development of battery and charger products for rugged environments.

You will work closely with Electrical Engineers on BMS designs, derive critical features from customer requirements, and drive testing and documentation processes. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent with 6+ years), strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks/CREO), and experience with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Graduate degree with 0–2 years experience; or 6+ years experience without degree.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks/CREO for 3D CAD visualization and drafting standards (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience with FEA/thermal, shock, and vibration analysis (Ansys preferred).
• Strong technical writing and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Full-cycle development of battery and charger products from concept to production.
• Design, analyze, test battery and charger solutions for rugged environments.
• Support BMS designs and provide feedback to requirement analyses and compliance matrices.
• Collaborate with customers to capture requirements and present designs in reviews.
• Develop testing procedures and documentation; conduct battery testing in labs or test sites.
• Perform root-cause analyses and support multiple programs concurrently.
