Canvas, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design, development and integration of aircraft hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems for C-130 Special Mission Aircraft. You will oversee engineering projects from concept through implementation, including airworthiness and structural repair planning.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, feasibility studies, and the creation of certification criteria. Strong background in DoD programs and system integration is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering (ABET desired) with 10 years DoD-related experience.
• Alternative: Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with 12 years experience; 5 in DoD/ISR/SOF.
• Experience with airworthiness, loads, stress, and weight and balance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly technical guidance for C-130 Special Mission Aircraft during depot maintenance and modification.
• Perform hardware design, development, integration, and analysis across all phases.
• Plan feasibility studies for design improvements and advanced tech.
• Develop standards for Tailored Airworthiness Certification Criteria (TACC/MACC).
• Develop structural and corrosion repair methods.
