Job summary

Tyonek Manufacturing Group, Inc. is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead aircraft integration efforts for avionics and weapons systems across multiple platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure airworthiness and maintainability for DoD and commercial projects.

The role requires extensive experience in rotary/fixed-wing design, CAD modeling, and rigorous analysis, with the potential to serve as technical lead during design and test phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field; 12+ years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft structures design, load paths and crash loads.
• Experience with DoD/FAA airworthiness processes and documentation.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and other CAD tools; ability to produce airworthy drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop CAD data packages, 3D models and 2D drawings for aircraft integrations.
• Design solutions for rotary and fixed wing aircraft considering weight, thermal, vibration and corrosion.
• Perform classical and finite element analyses to validate designs.
• Write specifications and reports to obtain airworthiness certification.
• Coordinate with manufacturing to improve design for producibility.
• Support prototype testing, validation and verification of aircraft modifications.
• Lead design reviews and communicate with Airworthiness Authorities.
• Develop installation instructions and ensure conformance to design.
• Review completed installations for compliance and quality.
