Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience across product development, thermal/fluid systems, HVAC, structural, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, energy, robotics or medical devices.
• Ownership of real designs, analyses, components, or systems.
• Experience with FEA/CFD, drawings, specs, testing, or production workflows.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Creo, AutoCAD, ANSYS, Abaqus or MATLAB.
• Familiarity with ASME/ASTM/ISO and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Clear progression toward senior or lead responsibility.
• PE licensure advantageous but not required.
• Hands-on use of large language models to distinguish strong reasoning from plausible errors.
• Excellent written communication and structured technical feedback.
• Strong practical engineering judgement grounded in industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical tasks and AI outputs for technical accuracy.
• Identify incorrect assumptions, unit errors, tolerances and constraints.
• Flag unsafe or impractical design choices.
• Provide precise written feedback with corrections.
• Write instruction specifications and reference solutions.
• Design benchmarks spanning design, manufacturing, controls, and analysis.
• Collaborate with researchers across engineering disciplines.
