Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Starmind constellation. You will own hardware from concept through high-volume production and on-orbit operation, shaping design criteria and system-level optimization.

You will rapidly iterate designs, drive trades, and push for elegant, manufacturable solutions with strict quality and cost targets. Expect extended hours and occasional travel as mission needs require.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years in mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, and/or manufacturing.
• Experience with CAD and FEA software packages.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware from conceptual design through high volume production and on-orbit operation for the Starmind constellation.
• Develop design criteria, collaborate on requirements, and drive system-level optimization.
• Rapidly iterate on designs and analysis to inform high level systems trades and steer product direction.
• Design for high volume—reduce part and process count, error-proof fabrication and integration, maintain performance.
• Establish efficient lifecycle from supply chain to final integration with partner teams.
