Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Electrical Hardware Engineer for the Starmind AI satellites. You will own the end-to-end hardware lifecycle, from concept through production, delivering high-reliability electronics for spaceflight.

You will work across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and software engineering with a strong cross‑functional team to enable advanced on‑orbit AI processing and data center workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in electrical or computer engineering or physics.
• 5+ years of industry experience designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware.
• Master’s degree preferred in electrical or computer engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in rapid design and delivery of highly reliable hardware products.
• 2+ years designing hardware from concept through production; full life-cycle development.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly develop high-reliability electronics for satellites and spacecraft.
• Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, test, and on-orbit performance of complex electrical designs.
• Get hands-on and support hardware through production, satellite integration, and flight.
• Work closely with engineers from adjacent disciplines to deliver tightly integrated, high-performance hardware.
• Challenge assumptions, question requirements, learn from mistakes, and approach problems with an open mind.
