Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to drive the mechanical design for advanced manufacturing facilities infrastructure. You will lead a team and steer design from concept through construction drawings, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and permitting requirements.

In this role, you will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with EPC partners, and deliver milestone updates at key project stages while producing accurate cost estimates and comprehensive design packages for

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
+12 years of experience designing large-scale mechanical systems.
Experience with industrial cooling tower systems, chiller plants, boiler plants.
Proficiency with Revit, Revisto, and Navisworks.

Responsibilities

Build and lead the mechanical team to execute all aspects of the mechanical design process.
Oversee the complete mechanical design process, guiding concept evaluations and final decisions for construction drawings and permitting.
Address RFIs and resolve design changes during construction.
Collaborate with EPC firms to verify designs meet Engineering Standards and align with project scope.
Mentor junior engineers and provide hands-on growth opportunities.
Deliver design progress updates at 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC milestones to ensure alignment.
Provide quantity take-offs and cost estimates under tight deadlines for diverse systems.
Create comprehensive design packages including basis of design and sequence of operations.
