Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Seattle seeks a senior mechanical engineer to drive data center mechanical designs from concept through construction documents.

You will work with internal teams and external vendors to define equipment specifications and ensure compliant, cost-effective solutions. The role requires hands-on mechanical design experience, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to support commissioning and turnover for multiple projects across regions, including international

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 6+ years of experience in design or construction in mechanical fields, including hydronics, air duct, and plumbing design.
• 4+ years’ experience using Revit for BIM models and construction drawings.
• Experience applying local codes, ICC requirements, and other mechanical standards.

Responsibilities

• Understand user requirements with internal teams.
• Create data center mechanical designs and produce construction document sets.
• Define designs that meet quality and budget requirements.
• Coordinate with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify mechanical equipment.
• Collaborate with local utilities and authorities to ensure compliance with codes and site requirements.
• Review and approve equipment submittals and support construction phases.
