Overview

Account Manager / Senior Technical Recruiter at The Ash Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our client (a global leader providing advanced systems and support in defense, aerospace, and security) in York, PA. This onsite contract role supports production design transitions, resolves build issues, and contributes to mechanical system development for advanced vehicle platforms.

W2 contract only – no C2C – no third parties. Duration: 12 months. Location: York, PA. Salary: $40 per hour with benefits including medical, dental, vision, direct primary care, and after six months, a 4% matched 401(k) with immediate vesting.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support production design transitions and resolve build process issues.
• Design interface components and generate solutions within technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and develop change documentation.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines (structures, ballistics, logistics).
• Prepare presentations and documentation for production variance issues.
• Perform trade studies and tolerance stack analyses.
• Analyze design specs, drawings, and test results to ensure compliance.
• Create and edit CAD models using PTC Creo or SolidWorks.
• Design and analyze welded and bolted joints.
• Apply FEA tools and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Support project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Troubleshoot component testing issues and maintain organized data logs.
• Work with suppliers to improve cost and quality.
• Provide on-floor support and assess vehicle issues directly.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• 2–6 years of engineering experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with FEA, GD&T, and CAD tools (PTC Creo or SolidWorks).
