Job summary

ASML in Wilton, CT is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design for complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment from concept through integration and validation. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Wilton, Connecticut, you will lead the development of complex mechanical solutions for advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will work across disciplines to turn technical requirements into reliable, manufacturable designs. Your contributions will support ASML’s mission to advance technology that enables innovations across industries.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead engineering work from concept through integration and validation. You will influence technical decisions, manage complex project scope, and guide colleagues through engineering challenges.

  • Lead mechanical design and development activities for complex products, modules, and subsystems.
  • Define requirements, interfaces, specifications, and verification criteria for mechanical solutions.
  • Evaluate design options and recommend solutions balancing performance, quality, cost, safety, and manufacturability.
  • Coordinate cross-functional engineering activities to support product integration and project milestones.
  • Lead testing and validation activities to confirm performance, reliability, and release readiness.
  • Identify technical risks, develop mitigation plans, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineers, share technical knowledge, and improve engineering methods and practices.
Education and Experience

To qualify for this Senior Mechanical Engineer position, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Five or more years of experience in mechanical engineering, product development, or complex system design.
  • Experience leading technical projects or workstreams within multidisciplinary engineering environments.
  • Experience with mechanical computer-aided design software, engineering drawings, and product lifecycle documentation.
  • Experience with design analysis, system integration, testing, and validation methods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical guidance is preferred.

Other Information
  • This is a full-time, regular role based on-site in Wilton, CT.
  • Travel may be required up to 10% depending on business needs.
  • Routinely required to sit, walk, talk, hear, use hands to keyboard, handle and feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • Occasionally required to move around campus and lift or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • There is potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage, and currents.
Security and controlled technology access
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Salary

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:
$109,200-150,150

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
