About The Role

• Deliver mechanical engineering design according to required timeframes and standards by supervising the performance of mechanical engineers, reviewing deliverables and providing high level technical expertise
• Facilitate the purchase of appropriate equipment by specifying requirements and assisting procurement with the purchase of equipment
• Contribute to the cost‑efficient delivery of mechanical engineering by managing the man hour budget and reviewing and approving mechanical capital cost estimates, recommending alternative approaches where possible
• Assist the development and review of relevant mechanical contracts by providing advice and input as required
• Issue drawings and other relevant information for construction by working with engineers and designers
• Motivate engineers and other project team members towards superior performance by supporting daily performance and providing ongoing mentoring and training

About You

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 8+ years in mechanical design engineering experience in a relevant industry (e.g., mining, mineral processing, materials handling, specifically gold and copper)
• Must hold a PE license—ideally within Arizona or Colorado
• Ability to resolve most technical issues in an efficient manner utilizing personal knowledge, external consultants and in‑house experience
• Good knowledge of CAD, 3‑D software and MS Office
• Knowledge of multi‑discipline engineering
• Commitment to mentoring and coaching of personnel
• Proven ability to manage, motivate and influence employees at all levels
• Strong analytical skills
• Well‑developed written and oral skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks for the design team and manage time effectively
