Job summary

Fishbeck seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Farmington Hills, MI or Toledo, OH. With a BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET) and 10+ years in A/E consulting, you will lead mechanical design, manage budgets, and serve as the primary client contact.

PE licensed, you will coordinate across disciplines and mentor staff, while supporting business development and project delivery using Revit BIM and MS Office. You will work with multidisciplinary teams on healthcare or higher education projects,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Minimum 10 years in the A/E consulting field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Experience leading mechanical design for healthcare or higher education projects; industrial or municipal experience a plus.
• Ability to lead mechanical design teams through all phases of delivery.
• Experience acting as project manager or engineering lead, including budgets, schedules, and work assignments.
• Strong client-contact skills and effective communication.
• Proficiency with Revit BIM and Microsoft Office products.
• Mentor and support junior staff development.
• Strong coordination across architectural, structural, electrical, and civil disciplines.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Working with our Mechanical Engineering team, you will work with a variety of multidisciplinary professionals on several different projects.

What You’ll Do

• Lead mechanical engineering design and technical execution for complex projects.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Architectural/Engineering (A/E) consulting business.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Demonstrated experience leading mechanical design efforts for healthcare or higher education projects; industrial or municipal experience a plus.
• Ability to lead and manage mechanical design teams through all phases of project delivery.
• Experience acting as a project manager or engineering lead, including managing budgets, schedules, and work assignments.
• Proven ability to serve as the primary client contact with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience pursuing new work, developing client relationships, preparing proposals, and participating in interviews.
• Proficiency with Revit Building Information Modeling software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and support the development of junior staff.
• Strong coordination skills across architectural, structural, electrical, and civil disciplines.
