Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at our facility in Stratford, CT. In this role, you will work on new product development and enhance existing products from conception to production. Working closely with Sales & Marketing, you will create concepts based off product specifications, customer needs and market feedback.

Responsibilities

• Perform full lifecycle product development on new products (design, develop, create prototypes, manufacture and implement) and continuous improvement of existing products.
• Lead project teams and facilitate the communication and interaction among departments and customer.
• Track projects against their schedule, budget and objectives, reporting status to management and customer on a regular basis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of commercial experience in product design and development, mechanics, kinematics, and materials.
• Fluent in 3D with SolidWorks and in 2D with AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of the manufacturing of plastic injection molded parts, stamped parts, and die cast parts, as well as a demonstrated knowledge of machine shop practices, molding, press working, and GD&T.
• Basic knowledge of electronics.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills allow you to communicate and coordinate with a team while designing with regards to cost, manufacturability, and quality constraints.
