We specialize in design, renovation, and infrastructure modernization projects across the U.S., with a primary focus on healthcare systems under the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Defense Health Agency (DHA), Indian Health Service (IHS), and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer remote or onsite (Albuquerque, NM, Anchorage, AK, N. Pole, AK, Roanoke, VA, Vancouver, WA) with 13–20 years of experience to lead and support multi-discipline design projects for healthcare facilities serving veterans, active-duty military, and tribal communities. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader and discipline lead on complex projects, ensuring compliance with federal standards and best practices in healthcare engineering.A strong leader, hard charger and mission oriented.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, med gas, and fire protection) design across all phases (schematic, DD, CD).
- Perform load calculations, system selection, and layout for new and renovated healthcare facilities.
- Develop technical specifications in accordance with VA TIL, UFCs, NFPA, ASHRAE, and P-100 standards.
- Coordinate closely with architects, other engineers, and client stakeholders (CORs, facility engineers).
- Support Construction Period Services (CPS), including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site inspections.
- Lead quality control reviews for discipline deliverables.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical standards development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 13–20 years of professional experience in building systems design.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one U.S. state (multi-state preferred).
- Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) required.
- LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP BD+C or similar) strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with federal agency design standards: VA, USACE, DHA, IHS, or DoD.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Trane Trace/Load Design, and Bluebeam.
- Strong communication, technical writing, and client interaction skills.
Location
Remote, U.S.-based. Travel may be required for project site visits (typically 10–15%).
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $120,000 – $150,000 DOE
