Job summary

Matchtech North America is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design, development and continuous improvement of mud pumps and related fluid-handling equipment within a manufacturing environment.

The role focuses on hands-on design work, delivering reliable, high-performance solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams from concept through production, while ensuring compliance with API/ISO standards and robust testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of mechanical or machine design experience.
• Experience designing mud pumps, frac pumps or similar equipment.
• Proficient with CAD tools such as Creo, Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Experience with FEA tools like Ansys or SolidWorks Simulation.
• Ability to read P&IDs and hydraulic schematics.
• Experience in ISO or API Q1 manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on fabrication or welding experience.

Responsibilities

Matchtech are supporting a key client in the recruitment of a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development and continuous improvement of mud pumps, positive displacement pumps, frac pumps and related equipment. This is a hands-on design engineering position focused on delivering innovative, reliable and high-performance mechanical solutions within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mud pumps, frac pumps and associated mechanical equipment.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings, calculations and technical documentation.
• Perform stress analysis, tolerance studies and design reviews.
• Develop and execute component and system testing programmes.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and support product improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Prepare engineering reports and support technical decision making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years' experience in mechanical or machine design engineering.
• Experience designing mud pumps, positive displacement pumps, frac pumps or similar fluid handling equipment.
• Proficiency with Creo, Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Experience using FEA tools such as Ansys or SolidWorks Simulation.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, hydraulic schematics and engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems development from concept through to implementation.
• Knowledge of API 6A, API 7K and API 8C standards.
• Experience within an ISO or API Q1 manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on fabrication, welding or mechanical workshop experience.
