Flowtec Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and development of industrial water and wastewater equipment. This on-site role focuses on taking projects from design through fabrication and commissioning, ensuring compliance with ASME, AWWA, API, and related codes.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience; a PE license is preferred. On-site work is required in Warren, NJ or Houston, TX.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree is an asset.
  • 5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of design codes and standards: ASME, AWWA, API.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design of pressure vessels, piping systems, skids, and packaged water treatment equipment.
  • Review P&IDs, general arrangements, fabrication drawings, BOMs.
  • Select and specify pumps, valves, piping, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Perform and review mechanical engineering calculations.
  • Ensure designs meet ASME, ANSI, AWWA, API and other codes.
  • Manage engineering data, parts, and BOMs in the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with Process, Electrical, Project Management, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Review vendor drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Support fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work directly with customers and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure successful project execution.

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of experience to lead mechanical design, analysis, and development of complex industrial water and wastewater treatment systems and equipment. This is a senior technical role with responsibility for engineered systems from design through fabrication and commissioning. Our client is part of a major global industrial organization, designing and manufacturing advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions for petrochemical, chemical, power generation, and heavy industrial customers.
