Job summary

Envirogen is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer experienced in water or wastewater or liquid processing to support our projects from initiation to delivery. You will work with the project management team on capital projects ranging from $1–$20m and provide engineering deliverables and technical guidance.

You will review drawings such as P&IDs, BOMs, and data sheets; select pumps, valves, and instrumentation; specify materials; and contribute to proposals and cost estimation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (ME, ChE) from an accredited four-year university is required (ME preferred).
• Relevant engineering experience in water/wastewater or fluid processing.
• Experience with AutoCAD is a plus and beneficial for design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Drive execution of Capital Projects within budget and schedule, meeting customer satisfaction.
• Review and approve drawings including P&ID, fabrication, single line, schematics, and related drawings.
• Review BOM for equipment and components for compliance with engineering principles and standards.
• Perform pump design & selection, hydraulic calculations, valve selections, instrumentation selection, and other equipment selection.
• Assemble, review, and approve specifications and data sheets for project components.
• Specify materials for purchasing, identify vendors, solicit quotes, and track delivery.
• Attend customer and vendor meetings and provide input on the project.
• Assist in gathering costs for equipment, labor, subcontractors, and other costs for proposals.

We have a great opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer experienced in the water or wastewater field or in liquid processing to join our growing business. As the senior Engineer you will work closely with the project management team in the overall execution of projects ranging from $1 - $20m and be responsible for the engineering support and deliverables required for a given project.

About the role:

• Engineer driving the execution of Capital Projects within budget, schedule and to customer’s satisfaction.
• Review and approve various drawings including P&ID, fabrication, single line, schematics, and other project related drawings.
• Reviews Bill of Materials (BOM) for equipment / component design for compliance with engineering principles, contract requirements, and applicable standards.
• Perform pump design & selection, hydraulic calculations, valve selections, instrumentation selection, and other equipment selection that meet contractual requirements and applicable standards.
• Assemble, review, and / or approve specifications, data sheets, or other detailed information for specific components related to the project.
• Specifying materials for purchasing including identifying vendors, initiating requests for quotation, making best price/best value purchasing determinations, specification compliance and tracking delivery of material.
• Attend customer meetings / vendor meetings and offer meaningful input as it relates to the project.
• Assist in the gathering of costs for equipment, labor estimates, subcontractor estimates, and other costs in preparation of proposals and commercial quotes.

About you:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (ME, ChE,) from an accredited, four-year university – ME preferred
• Demonstrated engineering experience in the water or wastewater field or fluid process engineering
• Experience with AutoCAD and applications is a plus
• Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
