Responsibilities

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, your chief responsibility is to oversee the mechanical engineering department's operations and ensure that the processes align with the overall business goals. Your duties will include:

• Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability, and throughput.
• Developing project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
• Creating, reviewing, and modifying mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Performing full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture, and implement).
• Designing systems and components that meet needs and requirements.
• Conducting experiments methodically, analyzing data, and interpreting results.
• Testing and evaluating theoretical designs and processes.
• Ensuring a product can be made reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments.
• Using research, analytical, conceptual, and planning skills, particularly mathematical modeling and computer-aided design.
• Considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety, and time constraints.
• Working with other professionals, within and outside the engineering sector.
• Monitoring and commissioning plant and systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in the manufacturing industry.
• Proficient in 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
• In-depth knowledge of high voltage systems and their operations.
• Excellent documentation and control skills.
• Proven experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to work under pressure and multitask.
• Excellent team-working and people skills.
• A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.
