Job summary

Blackstone Talent Group in Boise, Idaho, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our client's team. You will translate client needs into robust HVAC and building systems designs, managing projects from concept through construction drawings and ensuring compliance with Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with a design/build mechanical contractor or HVAC consultant.
• Professional Engineer license highly desirable, but not required.
• Strong understanding of HVAC design fundamentals and codes.
• Thorough understanding of HVAC systems and applications.
• Excellent familiarity with Building Codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual design through construction drawing development for large complex projects or multiple projects.
• Create conceptual designs certified to Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards.
• Responsible for calculations, design and layout of equipment, duct and piping systems on assigned projects.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Construction, and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners.
• Perform economic and energy analyses.
• Field engineering: assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and troubleshooting.
• Ensure the quality of HVAC design drawings and models.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and project teams.
• Manage time to meet project schedules and deadlines.
• Oversee other design team members as requested by Manager.

• Expert in project planning, coordination, and execution


• Independently complete conceptual design through construction drawing development for large complex project or multiple projects simultaneously


• Create conceptual designs certified to Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards


• Responsible for calculations, design and layout of equipment, duct and piping systems on assigned projects


• Appropriate engagement of engineering applications and/or managers in project decisions


• Extensive experience in applications engineering including psychrometrics, refrigeration, acoustics, and controls systems


• Proactively communicate and coordinate project designs with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners


• Conduct economic and energy analyses


• Field engineering: assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem solving/troubleshooting, as required


• Responsible for the quality of HVAC design drawings and models


• Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members


• Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines


• Oversee other design team members to complete project assignments when requested by Manager


• Strong understanding of clients engineering standards and project execution processes

Position Requirements:

• BS in Engineering or Construction Management


• Professional Engineer license highly desirable, but not required
