Job summary

Ghdiv in Houston designs and tests Yellow Jacket / G&H products and equipment, creating 3D models and detailed drawings with SolidWorks and preparing BOMs synchronized with ERP/PDM systems. The designer collaborates with engineers, drafters and technicians to ensure manufacturability and quality.

Require a 2-year technical degree or 3+ years in mechanical design and 5+ years of experience, strong SolidWorks skills, CAD drafting ability, and willingness to travel up to 10% for field work and

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or 3+ years related experience.
• 5+ years in mechanical design with independent work capability.
• Proficient in SolidWorks CAD modeling and drafting.
• Experience with PDM systems usage.
• Knowledge of CNC and manual machining processes.
• Experience in manufacturing or lab testing environments.
• Inspection experience with calipers and micrometers.
• Proficient with MS Office and BOM/Routing development.
• Understanding design documentation standards.
• Able to travel up to 10% for field activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop associative solid models and BOMs using SolidWorks, with ERP/PDM interface.
• Design for manufacturing with 3D models, drawings, weldments, and assemblies.
• Ensure designs meet form, fit, function, quality, manufacturability, cost and schedule.
• Apply standard mechanical design techniques to solve problems.
• Create and maintain CAD data revisions in the PDM system.
• Support engineers during development, prototyping, testing and fielding.
• Assemble and test products per plans and submit data to team.
• Assist with ISO 9001 documentation and MOC processes.
• Perform basic design calculations using provided templates.
• Communicate with clients to clarify requirements and changes.
