G&H Diversified Manufacturing LP in Houston seeks an experienced Mechanical Designer to build, test and launch Yellow Jacket / G&H products. You will create associative CAD models, detail drawings, and assemblies using SolidWorks and manage revisions in the PDM system.

You will collaborate with Engineers and Technicians to ensure manufacturability, quality, and cost targets while supporting ISO 9001 documentation and change control. Occasional travel to field sites is required.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or 3 years related experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in mechanical design position with demonstrated success of working independently.
• Proficient in SolidWorks CAD modeling and drafting; AutoCAD experience beneficial.
• Experienced with Product Data Management (PDM) systems usage.
• Knowledgeable of machining processes especially CNC and manual lathes, mills, saws, lasers, EDM and welding.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment or in a lab testing environment with mechanical equipment required.
• Inspection experience using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection devices.
• Proficient with using spreadsheets and familiar with developing Bills of Materials and product Routings for the manufacturing process.
• Knowledgeable of design documentation standards.
• Basic understanding of mechanical stresses and tolerance analysis.
• Excels in a highly dynamic organization, experiencing high growth rates.
• Ability to work on multiple projects with limited direction.
• Exceptional interpersonal/written communication skills; can effectively interact with all levels of management.
• Team player able to work well across business operations and build strong teams.
• Must be able to pass an ATF background check.
• Able to travel to field locations to support sales team or installation (10%)

Responsabilités

• Accurately develop associative solid models of assembled products and detail parts including BOM using SolidWorks and ERP interfaces.
• Design for manufacturing using 3D models, detail drawings, weldment drawings and installation drawings.
• Ensure designs meet form, fit, function, quality, manufacturability, cost and schedule.
• Apply standard mechanical design techniques to solve product design problems.
• Create and maintain revisions of CAD models and drawings in the PDM system.
• Support Engineers during development, prototyping, testing and fielding of products.
• Assemble and test products per test plans and share results with the team.
• Assist in developing ISO 9001 documentation and other test plans and manuals.
• Draft and implement MOC and other QMS documentation.
• Perform basic design calculations using templates/calculators.
• Interact with clients to understand design concepts and requirements.
• Support change requests and field issue resolutions.
• Assist with training of personnel, internal and external.
• Communicate regularly with Engineers and Project Managers to track progress.
