Job summary

VoltaGrid LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a Mechanical Designer to create and manage detailed 3D mechanical designs for data center projects, collaborate with engineers, and support installation and testing.

Candidates should have 5+ years of drafting experience, proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit (and AutoCAD Electrical/Mechanical), and a strong ability to learn new software, work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist the team with equipment drawings and installation/testing.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop accurate technical specifications and RFQ’s.

Position Title: MECHANICAL DESIGNER

Location: HOUSTON, TX

FLSA Class: EXEMPT

Responsible to: TEAM LEAD - DATA CENTER DESIGN

Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for the creation, organization, and dissemination of mechanical designs as needed by the Engineering team. Duties can involve some hands-on work, and document writing.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Use Inventor/ AutoCad software to create detailed 3D designs for complex projects for turnkey
• power generation solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to develop accurate

Other Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in EPC organizations or construction-focused project environments.
• Experience with the installation, operation, or troubleshooting of industrial automation
• equipment.
• Extensive knowledge and proficiency with the company’s preferred software. (AutoCAD Electrical/Mechanical, Inventor and Revit) and the ability to learn new software quickly
• Ability to take direction from engineering team and work independently to design systems per
• project design specifications
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
