Job summary

VoltaGrid LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design, analyze, and document electrical systems for microgrids, power distribution, and renewable energy equipment. Some on-site commissioning and troubleshooting may be required.

Responsibilities include medium/low voltage design, electrical documentation, coordination studies, and ETAP-based transient analysis, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 5-10+ years of experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with medium voltage power generation system design.
• Thorough knowledge of IEEE, NEC, NFPA, API, and related standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and review of medium/low voltage power generation, distribution, and microgrid systems.
• Prepare electrical documentation including Short Circuit and Arc Flash analyses.
• Coordinate Power System, Grounding, Load Flow, Harmonics, and Fault studies.
• Perform transient studies using ETAP.
• Prepare area classifications, drawings, reports, and electrical BOMs; maintain technical documentation.
• Provide engineering support to other departments as needed.
