Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. seeks a skilled senior-level mechanical designer to create CAD drawings from engineers' sketches, with emphasis on piping systems, laser scanning, and 3D modelling.

You will collaborate with a design team to meet schedules and budgets across power-generation projects. Field visits to plant sites for laser scanning and drawing resolution will be required, and adherence to corporate policies and safety standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or better in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8-12 years experience in mechanical design.
• Must be able to create CAD drawings from sketches or verbal instructions.
• Experience with piping systems and plant environments.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD drawings from sketches and/or verbal instructions from Engineers and Designers.
• Must be familiar with piping systems.
• Experience with laser scanning and 3D modelling.
• Work with design team to deliver on schedule and budget.
• Produce high quality, error-free CAD drawings.
• Occasional field trips to plant sites for laser scanning and drawing resolution with client reps.
• Adhere to Mesa Corporate policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Projects are for coal, combined cycle, simple cycle, and hydro plants.
