Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineering Specialist II to join our team and deliver mechanical designs for power generation facilities. You will work with engineers, drafters, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and review drawings, models, and P&IDs, ensuring compliance with industry codes and client standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and effective communication, with duties spanning design, analysis, and field data collection for various hydro projects.

Qualifications

• Required BSME.
• PE license or ability to obtain it in the next 2 years.
• Minimum six years of progressive piping and plant design experience.
• Pipe stress analysis experience using AutoPipe or Caesar.
• SME knowledge of pumps, valves, and heat exchangers.
• Knowledge of welding and weld repairs.
• Working knowledge of ASME B31.1, B31.3, NFPA, ANSI and API.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete design packages for mechanical systems in hydro projects.
• Collaborate with engineers and drafts in multi-discipline teams.
• Develop drawings including equipment layouts, piping plans, isometrics.
• Manage personal tasks; adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.
• Perform engineering calculations and size mechanical equipment.
• Take leadership of projects as needed.
