Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Specialist II to join the team and deliver mechanical design for power generation clients.

You will work with engineers, drafters, and other disciplines to develop complete design packages and lead engineering tasks. Qualifications include a BSME, a PE or potential to obtain, and at least six years in piping and plant design, with experience in pipe stress analysis using AutoPipe or Caesar.

Qualifications

• BSME degree required; PE license or ability to obtain within 2 years.
• Minimum six years progressive piping and plant design experience.
• Pipe stress analysis experience using AutoPipe or Caesar software.
• SME knowledge of pumps, valves and heat exchangers.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.1, B31.3, NFPA, ANSI and API codes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver complete design packages including equipment layouts, piping general arrangements, pipe support details and isometrics.
• Lead projects as Responsible Engineer on multiple assignments.
• Perform engineering calculations and size mechanical equipment.
• Review drawings for AutoCAD Plant 3D, Plant 3D, and MicroStation packages.
• Mentor and direct other design team members and drafters.
• Coordinate with cross-discipline teams on hydro, industrial, or other projects.
