Job summary

System One is seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Designer to support design and development of advanced Generation IV nuclear reactor systems. This role focuses on creating robust 3D CAD models and detailed drawings to enable conceptual and preliminary design efforts.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in mechanical/structural design with SolidWorks, GD&T, and experience with DFM/DFA, PDM/PLM, and ASME Y14.1/15 standards.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of mechanical/structural design and drafting experience.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and GD&T knowledge.
• Experience creating and reviewing fabrication drawings; DFM/DFA background.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models to support rapid design evolution.
• Create and review complex mechanical and structural designs.
• Generate and review engineering drawings per ASME Y14.1 and Y14.5.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analyses and support analyses.
• Maintain configuration control of models and drawings in PDM/PLM.
• Document design changes and support technical documentation.
