Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to join our Nuclear Power Group on onsite schedules. You will develop mechanical general arrangements and piping isometrics, lead design coordination, and mentor junior staff as part of a multi-discipline team.

You will utilize 3D plant layout tools to produce accurate schematics and assist in field data gathering at client facilities when needed. Strong collaboration with engineers is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in drafting or HS diploma with drafting coursework/experience.
• 10+ years of detailed physical design for mechanical GA, piping, and supports.
• Proficiency with 3D plant layout tools for mechanical design.
• Experience reviewing mechanical equipment, outlines, interfaces and deliverables.
• Ability to coordinate with multi-discipline teams in power plant design.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical general arrangements and piping isometrics.
• Design mechanical systems and resolve design issues.
• Use 3D modeling tools to generate mechanical schematics.
• Lead mechanical design coordination across phases and teams.
• Mentor less experienced drafters and designers.
